GREENHOUSE: Sow Feb. 15th. - Apr. 1st. for May - June blooms. Germinate at lower soil temperatures, 60 - 65°F/16 - 18°C, in total darkness for best results. 1 oz/28 g sows 8 (20x12 in/31x51 cm) flats at 700 - 800 seedlings per flat. Water thoroughly and cover seed lightly. Transplant in 25 to 30 days. Handle seedlings carefully by the leaves, not the stem. Plant at same depth as seedlings. Phlox are hard to transplant - so try sowing directly into paks as thinly as possible. Weakest seedlings are best colors.
DIRECT SOWING: Sow as thinly as possible where plants are to bloom, about May 10th. Thin seedlings 8 in/20 cm apart, small seedlings are the best colors. Plants should bloom by July 15th.
