CULTURE: Sow directly into 2.25 in/6 cm peat pots, (4 or 5 seeds per pot) about March 15th for May sales. Press seed into the soil and cover lightly as seed requires total darkness for proper germination. Germinate at 80°F/27°C soil temperature for 10 - 15 days. Grow at 65 - 70°F/l 8 - 21°C. Mimosa make an interesting novelty plant for children as fern like leaves fold up when touched and reopen 15 minutes later.
DIRECT SOWING: Broadcast seed in rows, clumps or between rocks about May 30th. Cover seed lightly. Plants are base branching and spread to about 10 in/25 cm at maturity. Thin to 8 in/20 cm apart.
