Live Wire® (Isolepis Sedge/pelleted)
Latin Name: Isolepis cernua
Item #: P1719
Suitable for Containers:
ORNAMENTAL GRASS Isolepis SedgeAnnual 8 in/20 cm
CULTURE:: Plants seem to thrive in containers or pots that are watered on a regular basis rather than planting in border or beds. For best results, keep them in 6 in/15 cm or larger pots or mixed containers. Sow Feb 15. Germinate for 6-10 days with or without humidity cover. Press pellets into a well drained, disease free, soil-less mix with an average pH of 5.5 to 6.1. Maintain a 64°F/18°C soil temperature. As cotyledons appear, increase temps to 68-72°F/20-22°C. When true leaves appear, continue to grow at the same temps. Maintain a 95% relative humidity throughout germination to the cotyledon stage, reducing moisture slightly as they appear. Never allow the seedlings to wilt. During germination, light is required at 2,500-5000 foot candles or 30,000-54,000 lux. Fertilize weekly at 50-75 ppm nitrogen with 14-0-14 as seedlings appear. Alternate with a 20-10-20 type. Grow plants at 66°F/19°C nights and 74°F/23°C days until sale or use.
