Eucalyptus/Cinerea
Tender perennial (3 ft/91 cm) Approx 42,000 seeds per oz/28 g
CULTURE: Hardy only in zones 9-11 @ 25°F/-4°C. Grow as an annual in the north. Sow indoors Feb. 15th for May pot sales or at least 10-16 weeks before last frost. Germinate @ 70°F/21°C for 14 days in a warm humid area. Reduce temps to 45°F/8°C for about 7 days until seeds germinate. Grow plants cool @ 60°F/16°C and avoid temps over 70°F/21°C. Do not over water. Plants like sandy, light, well drained fertile soils. In the north, use back poly in the growing area to keep roots warm and control the weeds. Direct seeding is not recommended because the seasons are too short in the northern areas.
SPACING: Transplant 12-24 in/30-60 cm apart. Use as an aromatic cut or dried foliage for containers or an accent in annual beds.
HARVEST: Begin harvest as leaves get a leathery feel. Use glycerin for easy drying. Bring plants indoors in gallon containers to survive northern winters.
