Helichrysum
nonflowering foliage type 8 in/20 cm 645,000 seeds per oz/28 gr small seed is pelleted
A non flowering, foliage form of Helichrysum Petiolare Minus or sometimes referred to as Plectostachys serphyllifolia. Seed is so small it is sold in Multi-pellets (3 seeds per pellet) which should give you about a 90% germination potential. Round/oval silver leaves average 1/4 in/0.6 cm in size on silver stems 18 in/45 cm long. Plants branch and spread well without pinching (unlike vegetative species). Silver foliage appears greenish under short spring and late fall day lengths. Silver color intensifies with more light as longer day length periods arrive in June. Plants average 6-8 in/15-20 cm in height with a garden spread of 18-24 in/45-60 cm full, mounded and spreading habit. Use for hanging baskets on containers. Prefers full sun.
CULTURE: Allow 12-14 weeks from seeding for 4 in/10 cm pot sales. Sow Feb. 1st for May sales. Germinate @ 76°F/24°C days and 62-65°F/16-18°C nights. Do not allow seedings or plants to wilt. Feed weekly with 200 ppm N in a complete fertilizer. If plants are underfed, leaves will become smaller and lower leaves will turn yellow. Allow plants to dry slightly between watering - constant wet foliage will cause Botrytis. Growth regulators are not needed.
