LINARIA (Baby Snapdragon)
Approx. 200,000 seeds per oz/28 g
CULTURE: A fast blooming miniature annual, which is quite similar in appearance to baby Snapdragons. Some gardeners know this species as Morocco Toadflax. Linaria is used as a rock garden subject or for miniature borders. Like their cousin, the Snapdragon, flowering cycles are rather short lived - lasting 2 or 3 weeks while the nights are cool. Sow seed thinly outdoors Apr. 15th for late June blooms. Be careful not to sow the seed too thick, or you will have great difficulty trying to thin the seedlings. Scatter seeds @ 3 per in/25 mm; press them into the surface of the soil, do not cover the seeds. Germinate @ 60°F/16°C soil temp. for about 7 days. Thin seedlings to 6 in/15 cm apart so that both small and large seedlings remain - assuring a good color mix. Linaria also makes a cheerful winter pot plant. Cut flowers are long lasting, just like Snaps.
