GREENHOUSE: Soak seed for 48 hours or nick the pointed end of the seed with a knife to speed up germination. Sow seed April 15th, directly into 3 in/8 cm Jiffy Strips, 3 seeds per pot, (about 5 weeks before sales). Cover seed with 1/4 in/6 mm of soil. Keep soil moist and at 70°F/21°C until seedlings appear. If you must transplant,do so about 7 days after germination, we recommend direct seeding to prevent transplanting shock.
DIRECT SOWING: In milder climates, seed may be sown outdoors, after soaking, when day soil temperature reaches 65-70°F/18-21°C. Try to sow the seed where you plan to grow the plants as morning glories are difficult to transplant. Thin or transplant when plants are 3 in/8 cm tall, to 6 in/15 cm apart. Thrives in regular soil, blooms all summer in semi-shade or direct sun.
